Sydney House

This private house is located in one of Moscow’s most prestigious suburbs. The exterior design was inspired by the iconic forms of the Sydney Opera House. Travertine was chosen as the main material, shaping the overall architectural concept.

Natural stone plays a key role in the interior of the house. The first floor is finished with travertine, and the kitchen backsplash is made of marble, hand-carved in a three-dimensional relief technique.

The circular flow and open-plan layout of the first floor allow easy movement from the entrance hall into the living area combined with the kitchen, and further on to the main and the children’s staircases leading to the second floor.

The second floor features a master bedroom and two children’s bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The children’s wing has a separate staircase, providing independence and everyday convenience for the family.

The children’s bedrooms are designed in two distinct color palettes — soft milky whites for the girl and green-beige tones for the boy.

The girl’s room is shaped by fluid forms. Rounded corners, gentle lines, and the absence of rigid geometry create a calm and delicate atmosphere. The color is used subtly, as a background rather than through bold accents or decorative elements.

In contrast, the boy’s bedroom is more structured. Clean lines and balanced proportions create a sense of order and clarity.

Both rooms were designed with growth and change in mind, allowing the interiors to remain timeless and naturally adapt as the children grow.

The master bedroom, featuring a large arched window, becomes one of the key spaces in the house, filled with natural light throughout the day.

Despite its generous size, the space was designed to feel warm and inviting. Swivel chairs with a side table and a floating console add functionality, while the curved walls echo the shape of the window, creating a more intimate and cohesive atmosphere.

The top floor is dedicated to staff quarters, a secondary kitchen, a lounge area, and a spacious terrace with a fireplace, where the family can spend time outdoors surrounded by mature pine trees.
